I'm Arpan, an applications developer/web programmer from Kolkata, India.

Now-a-days I spend much of my free time on freelance programming or webdev projects and the rest multitasking between my own projects and responsibilities. I like to follow modern best-practices and make modular, legible and extensible code while keeping time and simplicity in mind. I hate doing the same things twice, so I usually write a bunch of short scripts or code snippets that make my life easier.

Currently looking for a development position spitting JS/Angular.js with the IMC team while gaining some hands-on experience on corporate technologies and workflows. However, feel free to send me word regarding freelance projects, definitely if you think you're building something awesome.

• Textual Re-use Detection system (paper here) for CL!NSS at PAN@FIRE'13. (Ranked 5th by accuracy, and 3rd by organization.)
• Knowledge based movie ranking AI using python-numpy/scipy.
• Scalable Textual plagiarism detection system (paper here) combining technologies from Google App Engine, Amazon EC2/EMR , and Openstack .
• Web based Student information management system in Zoho Cloud written in Deluge script.
• Banking/Accounting prototype using JDK6.

I finished my MSc. with merit in Internet Computing from The University of Surrey in the September of 2013. Prior to that, I got my Bachelor's degree in 2011 in Computer Applications from The Heritage Academy.
